All About Me
Let me introduce myself. My name is Josephine, my close friends and family call me Jojo and everyone else calls me Jo.
I was born in 1984 and in 2009 I gave birth to my first baby, a little boy who my husband and I named Frederick. We call him Freddy, Freds, Fredereeky, Fredster, depends how silly we’re feeling at the time really!
In 2011 I had my second baby, a little girl who we named Juniper and who looks very much like her big brother.
What I Want To Achieve
Being at home for Freddy and Juniper as they grow up is important to me, but at the same time my husband and I decided it would be a good idea for me to do some kind of work from home, that will prevent my brain turning to mush now that I’ve given up work.
We came up with the idea of creating my own website. One that I will find interesting to research and write. Something that will benefit those who find it, and help me learn a thing or two in the process. Why not talk about pregnancy, giving birth and all that goes with it?
What Do I Have To Offer?
Well I’m not a medical person or a professional, so why listen to me?
The thing is, I’m going through this exciting time of life with you. I’ve got a baby and toddler of my own. I’m doing research, not just to be able to write my website, but to help myself as well.
Apart from my own experiences, I draw on those of my friends and family too. I find myself surrounded by people who are either pregnant or have young families, and so I’m always picking their brains for practical advice they have to offer.
My aim is to bring you simple, down-to-earth information and advice that is practical because it is tried and tested. It relates to what is actually the case, rather than what experts believe to be the case.
What's In It For You?
Surely most women who are in the throws of starting or expanding their families want to have successful happy, healthy pregnancies (as far as it relies upon them), and to have happy, healthy babies.
Becoming a mother for the first time has made me only too aware of how many questions arise when you start having a family. I’m also aware that not all women who are expecting babies or who want to start a family have that sort of help so readily available as I have from friends and family.
My aim is to help these ones to benefit in the same way I am, because I believe you can get so much more enjoyment from having babies if you feel sure and happy about what you are doing.
The key to this is to be a calm, confident mother and to be organised, well informed and hard working. If these ideals appeal to you then please have a look at what I’m creating here. Hopefully you will find something that will help you enjoy your pregnancy or your new baby just that little bit more.
What's In It For Me?
Doing the extra research on this subject is interesting. I’m benefiting myself and learning new things as well as hopefully helping others, so it’s quite satisfying.
I get to work from home, writing, which is really enjoyable, the perfect workplace. Perhaps, if my site is good enough, I’ll even be able to earn myself a bit of money along the way. But even if I don’t, the research I’m doing will certainly help me be a good mum to Freddy and Juniper.
As mentioned before, I am not a professional, nor am I trained in any aspect in the field of health care. Everything on my website is taken from personal research sourced from books, magazines, the internet, friends and family.
I do not claim to be an expert on any of the subjects covered, and if anyone needs medical or professional help regarding pregnancy they should seek the advice and support of the medical team that services their area.
